The fantasy football season is here and we are already dealing with multiple injuries and low owned players going off. We will help you throughout the season decide who to pick up and how much FAAB to bid on each player. The waiver wire is a big part of how you win your league, so don’t miss out on these players!
Garrett Wilson, WR
Wilson popped huge in Week 2, following up a decent Week 1 performance and showing you he can contribute to this passing attack just as the Jets had hoped when they drafted him. He’s in the territory of must-add players, given the injuries and inconsistencies we’ve seen across the league at WR so far this year. However, he’s done all this with Joe Flacco under center, so it remains to be seen if this level of success will continue upon Zach Wilson’s return. This little wrinkle is certainly reason to hedge your bets a bit, but I wouldn’t let it scare you off.
Week 2 Stats: 26.00 points (14 Tgt, 8 Rec, 102 Rec Yds, 2 TD)
FAAB Bid: $5 – $11
Jahan Dotson, WR
Dotson should have been picked up last week, but only 43% of league owners decided to listen. The Commanders and Carson Wentz are slinging the ball around and multiple receiving threats are viable starts there. So far, Dotson has posted 16.50 and 15.90 points, has 3 TDs on the season, and has played 88% and then 99% of offensive snaps. He’s a guy you should be throwing money at this week.
Week 2 stats: 15.90 points (5 Tgts, 3 Rec, 59 Rec Yds, 1 TD)
FAAB Bid: $7 – $14
Jakobi Meyers, WR
There are not many Patriots players we want in fantasy, but Meyers is the only WR to consider. He won’t give you those 20 plus point games, but he is a very safe WR3 on your team with a floor of around 8-10 points. He had 13 targets and caught 9 of those for 95 yards, so he is the go to guy for Mac Jones this season. If you are in a PPR league, I would bid up even more to get this guy on your team.
Week 2 stats: 14.00 points (13 Tgts, 9 Rec, 95 Rec Yds)
FAAB Bid: $4 – $10
Eno Benjamin, RB
Benjamin follows much of the same logic as the Darrel Williams add. Conner seems to have dodged a bullet, for now. But aggravating that ankle injury could happen at any time, and both Williams and Eno looked good in relief of Conner in Week 2. This Cardinals offense should continue to get better week over week as they add back pieces of their attack, so adding a guy like Benjamin now for a couple bucks is worth it in case Conner picks up another knock.
Week 2 stats: 6.60 points (8 Rush, 31 Rush Yds, 4 Tgts, 3 Rec, 20 Rec Yds)
FAAB Bid: $4 – $8
Raheem Mostert, RB
Right now, it seems to be a split backfield in Miami with Mostert and Edmonds, but Mostert is the one who is getting the bulk of carries and even had more receptions than Edmonds in Week 2. It may be a headache throughout the year on who to start, but at least Mostert will get the bulk of the carries each week as long as Miami looks this good.
Week 2 stats: 9.40 points (11 Rush, 51 Rush Yds, 3 Tgts, 3 Rec, 28 Rec Yds)
FAAB Bid: $3 – $8
Darrel Williams, RB
Conner’s ankle injury is said to not be that serious, but on the offchance that it is, Williams is a guy worth adding. He took 8 carries after Conner went out in Week 2 and turned those into 59 yards and a TD. You can certainly live with that production out of a guy, and with a running back like Conner who we have seen deal with foot/ankle injuries in the past, having his handcuff is a must.
Week 2 stats: 13.20 points (8 Rush, 59 Rush Yds, 1 TD, 3 Tgts, 2 Rec, 3 Rec Yds)
FAAB Bid: $3 – $7
Greg Dortch, WR
Perhaps one of the bigger surprises of the year through two weeks is the emergence of Greg Dortch as a viable starting flex play (or even WR2 in deep leagues). He has posted 9.80 and 13.50 points, on the back of only 1 TD. With Rondale Moore still unlikely to see the field in Week 3, I am adding Dortch in a lot of leagues and even considering playing him. The Rams defense he draws in Week 3 is a bit of a cause for concern, but Carolina in Week 4 is much juicier. Grab him out of the discount bin now before you have to spend up on him for Week 4.
Week 2 stats: 13.50 points (4 Tgts, 4 Rec, 55 Rec Yds, 1 TD)
FAAB Bid: $4 – $6
Corey Davis, WR
Davis has put in two good weeks now, albeit this past week nearly all of his points came on a 66 yard TD reception. Davis received 9 targets in Week 1 with a 68% snap share and 4 targets in Week 2 with a 79% snap share. He is being used often and cannot be overlooked.
Week 2 stats: 15.30 (4 Tgts, 2 Rec, 83 Rec Yds, 1 TD)
FAAB Bid: $3 – $6
Noah Brown, WR
With Michael Gallup out, the guy who stepped up has been Noah Brown. He has clearly been Cooper Rush’s favorite target and has 5 receptions each of his first two weeks of the season. He is averaging an 86.5% snap share and just put up 17.60 fantasy points in Half PPR scoring on the back of 9.30 in Week 1. Regardless of Michael Gallup’s looming return, Noah Brown is a must add as long as Cooper Rush is throwing the ball.
Week 2 stats: 17.60 (5 Tgts, 5 Rec, 91 Rec Yds, 1 TD)
FAAB Bid: $3 – $6
Brian Robinson, RB
Pick him up before it is too late! We have been talking about this guy since Week 1, now he is already doing individual drills on the sideline and the Week 5 return is looking better and better each day. Gibson had a fine Week 1, but besides a late game TD in Week 2, he just did not do enough to show the team he is the guy. I truly believe Robinson is the guy as soon as he comes back, so stash him now and enjoy come Week 5.
Week 2 stats: OUT, still recovering
FAAB Bid: $3 – $6
Jordan Mason, RB
Here we go again with the Niners RBs. First it was Eli Mitchell with the injury in Week 1, and now it’s the rookie Davis-Price with a high ankle sprain. Davis-Price will be sidelined for a few weeks, so Mason should take the number 2 spot there behind Jeff Wilson. Wilson is the guy for now, but Niners RBs just cannot stay healthy. It is better to get ahead of it now and pick up Mason before you spend more FAAB on him next week.
Week 2 stats: 0.00
FAAB Bid: $2 – $5
Logan Thomas, TE
Thomas was a speculative add for us last week, kind of a “TEs aren’t great this year, but he did okay, snag him and see what he does in Week 2” sort of pick. And then he came out and smashed it with 11.20 points on 3 catches for 37 yards and a TD. This Commanders offense seems to be clicking, and several pass catchers there are startable in fantasy while Wentz continues to play at this level.
Week 2 stats: 11.20 (5 Tgts, 3 Rec, 37 Rec Yds, 1 TD)
FAAB Bid: $2 – $3
