Week 8 Waiver Wire

The fantasy football season is here and we are already dealing with multiple injuries and low owned players going off. We will help you throughout the season decide who to pick up and how much FAAB to bid on each player. The waiver wire is a big part of how you win your league, so don’t miss out on these players!

Gus Edwards, RB

After being activated from IR this week, Gus Edwards resumed his usual dominance in the Ravens backfield and rendered all other ball carriers irrelevant. With JK Dobbins headed back to IR after getting his knee scoped, there should be a minimum 4 week window where Gus Edwards is the focal point of the Ravens running back room. We say all other backs take a backseat to him in Week 7, so I would be comfortable spending up on Edwards as any RB-needy team should at this point in the fantasy season. There is a legitimate chance that Edwards is the horse you can ride right into your league’s playoff picture.

Week 7 Stats: 18.6 (16 att 66 yards 2 TDs)

FAAB Bid: $12-$21

D’onta Foreman, RB

I feel like right around this time every year we start to talk about picking up D’Onta Foreman. And for good reason! He looked like a stud RB for the Panthers this week, in a very clear split between him and Hubbard. If you’re making a run at one of these guys, you should be making a run at both, because every given week the bulk of the carries could change. While this week Foreman looked like the more efficient ball carrier, Hubbard was the one who found the endzone. Foreman also broke loose for a big 60 yard run, but didn’t have the juice to make it to the house, so Hubbard came in and finished off the drive. We could see a lot of this going forward on a Panther team that is limited with what they can do offensively. I like Foreman as a flex play with weekly RB2 upside going forward.

Week 7 stats: 15.5 points (15 att 118 yards, 2 tgts 2 rec 27 yards)

FAAB Bid: $6 – $11

Wan’Dale Robinson, WR

Robinson is easing back into the offense, and in just 69% of snaps (nice), he was targeted 8 times and caught 6 for 50 yards. Not a line that jumps out at you, but the snaps will only go up every week. Even when/if Golladay or Toney come back, Robinson can be viewed as the top pass catcher in the offense. For some reason the Giants are clicking, and Daniel Jones is playing well. They also get the Seahawks next week which could be a blow-up game for Robinson before their Week 9 bye.

Week 7 stats: 8 points (8 tgts 6 rec 50 yards)

FAAB Bid: $6 – $9 (69? nioce)

Chuba Hubbard, RB

All the points I made for D’Onta Foreman follow the same logic the same for Hubbard. The Panthers are a team with limited offensive weapons, and running the ball is one thing they can do well. A two-headed backfield of Hubbard/Foreman has emerged, and the Panthers just took down the Bucs behind the strength of these two RBs (and their defense, can’t leave them out). Hubbard should have plenty of opportunities for points in the coming weeks, and he has a flex play floor with an RB2 upside each and every week. Try to snag a piece of this backfield while you still can.

Week 7 stats: 14.3 points (9 att 63 yards 1 TD, 3 tgts 2 recs 10 yards)

FAAB Bid: $6 – $10

Tyler Allgeier

Neither Huntley nor Allgeier has seized the RB1 role while Patterson has been on IR, and he is poised to come back in Week 9. So even though Allgeier scored a TD this week and got above double digit points, I’m not breaking the bank to get him. The 15 carries is a nice uptick in touches, but only converting those into 50 yards is still not the efficiency we are typically looking for. If you’re in a tough spot with RBs, as many of us are, he’s worth a look this week, but against the Carolina D… I wouldn’t go too crazy.

Week 7 stats: 11 points (16 att 50 yrds 1 TD)

FAAB Bid: $2 – $5

Rondale Moore, WR

Moore was a big start of the week for TSF in Week 7, but he only had 1 catch for 30 yards. It could have been a bigger day for him, but with the Cardinals having two interceptions for TDs at the end of the first half, they had a large lead, and they did not have to throw a lot of deep balls going forward. This was also a game where they forced the ball to Hop to get him going in his first game back. AJ Green was benched as well and with Hollywood out and Robby Anderson still learning the offense, I am still all in on Moore.

Week 7 stats: 3.6 points (2 tgts, 1 rec, 31 rec yds)

FAAB Bid: $5 – $9

Isiah Pacheco, RB

We got the news that Pacheco would take over the starting role over CEH in Week 7, and although CEH did score, that was accurate. He played a season high in snaps (30%), but only 8 carries and no targets out of the backfield. Regardless, if he is going to get the most snaps out of any RB going forward in this offense, I want that. Everyone ran to pick him up early Sunday morning, and it is likely he will be a cut candidate with a poor performance and going on their bye, so grab him for cheap now as a stash.

Week 7 stats: 4.3 points (8 att 43 yards)

FAAB Bid: $6 – $11

Garrett Wilson, WR

Elijah Moore is in the doghouse (by his own doing), Corey Davis picked up a knee injury as is now considered day-to-day, Breece Hall tore his ACL and is out for the season, Braxton Berrios stinks at football, and Zach Wilson needs someone to throw the ball to. Wilson has really only had one huge game this season, but with the lack of other options he may be in for an increase in targets, routes, and points. If this is the case, you can buy him now for cheap off of 2 lackluster performances back to back.

Week 7 stats: 4.4 (5 tgts, 4 rec, 24 rec yds)

FAAB Bid: $6 – $10

Latavius Murray, RB

Melvin Gordon did get the start after pretty much being benched last week, but did very little with it. It is not like Lat did much of anything either, but he did score the TD and was used down by the goal line. This backfield could be a mess going forward, but Melvin Gordon has been in trade talks as we near the deadline, and if he is moved that would be a massive boost for Lat. Let’s be real, this team isn’t going anywhere, so if they move Gordon, they could just be fine using the veteran RB in Murray rest of season. Additionally, Mike Boone has been placed on IR and will miss the next 4 weeks at a minimum, so RB mouths to feed are becoming fewer and fewer in Denver.

Week 7 stats: 9.3 (8 att 24 yards 1 TD 3 tgts 2 catches -1 yards)

FAAB Bid: $4 – $8

Rachaad White, RB

White’s snaps have gone up as of late, and although he has not done much with them, it’s a positive sign. Fournette is the back to own there for sure, but the Bucs may need to involve White more down the stretch because something must change there for them to win games. At the very least, he is a solid handcuff to Lenny which is the time to now get those types of players on your team.

Week 7 stats: 3.7 points (6 att 24 yards 2 tgts 1 catch 8 yards)

FAAB Bid: $2 – $4

Parris Campbell, WR

With two strong weeks in back to back outings, Campbell is certainly beginning to creep back onto fantasy radars. Double digit targets and a score for two consecutive games reminds us of the Parris Campbell we knew and loved before he picked up a slew of injuries. Pierce and Pittman both took a backseat to him this week, and while I don’t think that will continue going forward, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on, especially as the team transitions out of Matt Ryan and into Sam Ehlinger, who may have more reps with Campbell under his belt than anyone else.

Week 7 stats: 18 points (12 tgts 10 rec 70 yards 1 TD)

FAAB Bid: $2 – $4
