The fantasy football season is hurdling towards playoff times and we are still dealing with multiple injuries and low owned players going off. What’s that old saying? Once is a coincidence but twice is a pattern? Well while his TD scored this week was of the fluky variety (recovering a Derrick Henry fumble in the endzone), he still put up 70 yards and another 15 point week (14.60 the week before, to be exact). Tannehill has started to find his game again, and the emergence of Burks has definitely helped. Look for him to continue to contribute this week, even in a tough matchup with Philly.

Dobbins is slated to return soon, but for the time being Gus Edwards is the RB1 in BAL. He came back an immediately dethroned Kenyan Drake, who is a cut candidate for us at TSF if you listened to our Hold/Fold segment this week on the pod. He did fumble, but Harbaugh stuck with him and he got the first carry on the next drive. So there’s no doubt what we know to be true is still the case; the Ravens staff loves Edwards and he will have value even upon the return of Dobbins. He’s worth an add, and if Dobbins takes some time to get back up to full speed he could carry value into the fantasy playoff picture.

Somehow only 59% owned, this number should be 100%. Deshaun is a couple years removed from his last competitive football game played, but when he was playing he was a consistent top 5 QB in the league. The 59% of owners are definitely in 2QB leagues, but even in single QB formats he should be a guy with tons of value, even in his first week back against a weak Houston team that also will be a MASSIVE revenge game for Watson after their relationship fractured. Starting a presumably rusty QB certainly carries some risk, but an elite player like Watson is a guy who you can take that chance on, but at the very least he’s worth a stash and a wait and see approach.

The Ravens opened up Dobbins return window from IR (again) and with that fantasy owners are scrambling to pick him up. Someone in your league will spend through the roof to acquire him because of what we saw from him last time he played consistently, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen him on the field on a regular basis and actually able to play at full speed. He’s definitely talented, he definitely has upside, but do you even play him his first week back? What if his first week back is the week your playoff berth is on the line? Or how about your first actual playoff game? It’s a risk and all these mitigating factors need to be considered when you make your bids. For me… I’m not breaking the bank when there are other comparable guys out there that will actually be on the field.

This is the second week in a row Zay Jones finds his way onto this list, and I get the hesitation on him in some ways, but in other ways it’s like…. c’mon what’s the guy gotta do to get on your team. He’s consistently seen targets this year, and the past two weeks he has been in double digits and turned in great outings. This week he gets a matchup with Detroit and should continue to produce, unless the Jags are up huge and stray away from the passing attack, but I don’t see that happening.

Week 12 stats: 22.00 points (14 tgts, 11 rec, 145 rec yds)

This one is a dicey pickup to be sure, but it makes sense from a lot of angles. First and foremost, he showed the ability to produce on the field, which is huge no matter how you look at it. BUT… Michael Carter is already considered day to day. If he plays, it’s an immediate knock to Knight’s potential production. Add on to this, that even if Carter sits, you had James Robinson as a healthy scratch last week, and he could easily be dressed and play in Carter’s place, and we’ve seen him produce in all types of scenarios, so I wouldn’t expect anything different if he is activated again. THEN we have the ever annoying Ty Johnson, who popped for a big play TD last week and continues to be the nagging thorn in the side of all Jets RBs. I’d toss a couple bucks on Knight based on what we saw in Week 12, but I wouldn’t recommend bidding through the roof on an RB who may never see the field.

Not a monster week by any means for Slayton, but still posted 7.80 points against a tough Dallas defense on a short week. So I’m going to cut him just a bit of slack. He also missed a TD on a great catch that saw him down at about the 1 inch line… so he easily could have scored 6 more points. He’s got Washington this week, who just lost their second corner in St. Juste, so there’s a reasonable expectation that Slayton gets back on track and puts together another double digit outing in Week 13.

Last time McKenzie lined up against the Patriots he put together a performance for the ages and exposed Myles Bryant for the bum that he is. And since then… not much has changed with the Pats defense, nor has much changed for the Bills offense. They do come in on a short week, so the trickery and illusion that the Bills use to get McKenzie the ball in space may be more limited than usual, but if the Pats use Jonathan Jones in coverage against Diggs like they did a week ago with him and Jefferson, it should open up McKenzie to be covered by any mixture of inferior corners and open the door for another big day.

Engram is likely your streaming TE pickup option of the week. He draws a juicy matchup against Detroit and can be viewed as a TE with arguably the most upside, especially when you consider how hot Trevor Lawrence has been under center the last few games. Like all TEs, his production is tied to his ability to find the endzone, but in a favorable matchup this chance is higher than it will be for many other options that are out there.

You’re going to continue to see a Rams running back on this list until one separates themselves from the pack, and Akers actually had a couple decent runs in the first half of last week’s game. Had the game not gotten away from the Rams he may have seen more work, and that could continue to be the story as the Rams continue to lose players to IR, but if there is a RB I want to stash in LA right now it’s Cam Akers. He’s likely not startable, so I wouldn’t overdo it with the bids, but a couple bucks is worthwhile.
