Players to Pick Up Now – Week 4

I started this article last year and I think it was a success. Long story, short, I am going to point out a few players each week to pick up now before you have to spend FAAB or a high waiver claim going in to the following week. These are players who are owned in less then 50% of leagues that you can pick up before Sunday kickoff who have the chance to become a high waiver wire player.

Richie James Jr. – 15% Owned

It is Week 4 and we are talking about Richie James being the top WR for the New York Giants. Sterling Shephard is out for the season, Kadarius Toney and Wondale Robinson cannot seem to get on the field due to injuries, and Kenny Golladay looks like he should not even be in the NFL. This is just typical Giants for us, but it give James an actual shot to become the top WR for the Giants. He has at least 5 targets each week this season and that could go up with him being the top option moving forward. They play the Bears also this week which gives him an easier shot to succeed.

Jerick McKinnon – 10% Owned

The points have not been there for McKinnon yet, but he is still getting on the field as much, and some weeks, even more than CEH. CEH is having a great season because of TDs, but McKinnon is for sure a threat to CEH and I just do not see Edwards-Helaire keeping this up. I am shocked he is only owned in 10% of leagues because he is the RB who is getting the most snaps on one of the best scoring offenses in the NFL. If you are CEH, you need to grab McKinnon now.

Zay Jones/Marvin Jones Jr. – 30%/7% Owned

I feel both Jones WRs from the Jaguars should be picked up, but for sure Zay Jones over Marvin Jones. Zay Jones saw 11 targets last week for 85 yards and a score. This offense seems like they are able to support two WRs and in some weeks, three WRs with Kirk already involved as the WR1. Zay Jones is banged up with an ankle injury this week, so that is the reason why I am adding Marvin Jones as well. We saw Marvin have success with Trevor Lawrence at the end of last season and he was able to find the end zone last week. Play Zay Jones this week and pick up Marvin Jones to stash on your bench.

THE WRAP UP

Those are the few players I like this week for pickups before they hit waiver wire. These are players that are worth a spot on your bench and if they do not hit, then they are easy drops going in to Week 5, but you might as well take a shot on these guys in case they hit. I will be doing this article every week before the Sunday games so make sure you keep up with it throughout the season!
