Players to Pick Up Now – Week 10

I started this article last year and I think it was a success. Long story short, I am going to point out a few players each week to pick up now before you have to spend FAAB or a high waiver claim going into the following week. These are players who are owned in less than 50% of leagues that you can pick up before Sunday kickoff who have the chance to become a high waiver wire player. We are getting close to fantasy playoffs and now is the time to get these guys who could be league winners.

Deshaun Watson (CLE-QB) – 36% Owned

I thought Watson would be too obvious, but he is still owned in only 36% of leagues. I get that he is not going to be back until Week 13, but everyone is usually stashing guys who may hit later in the season, but for some reason, Watson is still widely available. This is a guy who you can stash and you know right off the bat can hit and be a QB1 like he was in the past. The remaining schedule for Watson and the Browns is favorable and if you are a top team in the league, you can afford to pick up Watson now and stash him.

Rachaad White (TB-RB) – 40% Owned

White has made his way on this article a few times this season, but now really is the time to grab him. We have seen him be used more in recent weeks and the offense has been clicking better when he is on the field. Fournette is still the starter there, but he has not looked great running the balls besides the TDs he has gotten. Fournette has been able to do his work in the passing game, but if White is going to be on the field more going forward like the media has suggested, I want to own him right now. Even if you don’t believe it, it does not hurt to grab him, keep him on your bench, and see if it actually happens.

Jaylen Warren (PIT-RB) – 27% Owned

Similar to White, Warren has been talked about as a guy who could see more work going forward in his offense. Sure, Harris is the lead back for the Steelers, but to date, he has not been putting up the numbers we thought we would be getting from a first round pick. In the limited work Warren has received, he has done very well with it and we have even heard reports he may take over as the lead back. As much as I don’t believe he is better than Harris, the Steelers are at the bottom in the league and they could just shit down Harris and make sure he is 100% healthy next season.

Donovan Peoples-Jones (CLE-WR) – 32% Owned

Peoples-Jones has not done much to date, but has been able to give you 9-10 points in 4 games this season. The reason I want to grab him now is that he gets Deshaun Watson back in Week 13. I get that it is still a few weeks away, but the longer you wait, the harder and more expensive he will be to get. Even without Watson this week, he gets a favorable matchup with Miami where he could be a nice sleeper for you in Week 10. Watson is as good as it gets as a QB in the NFL and if you do not think he can support two WRs in his offense, then you are mistaken.

THE WRAP UP

Those are the few players I like this week for pickups before they hit the waiver wire. These are players that are worth a spot on your bench and if they don’t hit, then they are easy drops going into Week 11. But you might as well take a shot on these guys in case they actually do hit. I will be doing this article every week before the Sunday games so make sure you keep up with it throughout the season!
