We all love the waiver wire each week during the season, but there are weeks where you don’t get your guys. It may be that you were a lower waiver, or you did not bid enough FAAB to get your guy. If that is the case, there are still options out there and players you can pick up now before they become waiver wire targets next week. We will give you some players that may have a breakout game or players that you should keep at the end of your bench incase of injury.
First let’s look at the players that were suggested last week to pick up. The biggest player that hit was Emmanuel Sanders who ended up being a hot waiver add in Week 4:
Bryan Edwards: Week 3 Results – 5 Targets, 3 Receptions, 89 Rec Yards (10.40 Fantasy Points)
Jalen Reagor: Week 3 Results – 8 Targets, 5 Receptions, 53 Rec Yards (7.80 Fantasy Points)
Emmanuel Sanders: Week 3 Results – 6 Targets, 5 Receptions, 94 Rec Yards, 2 TDs (23.90 Fantasy Points)
K.J. Hamler: Week 3 Results – 3 Targets, 1 Reception, 28 Yards, Injured, Out for Season (3.30 Fantasy Points)
Now let’s get to the other players out there that could have a big week and you should grab before it is too late. Now I am not saying these guys will for sure break out this week and if you pick them up to keep at the end of the bench and they don’t do anything, just drop them at the end of the day.
Curtis Samuel – 41% Owned
Curtis Samuel is finally off the IR and will make his season debut with his new team. Washington has used Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries to fill the void, but neither one has done much of anything to keep that job. Samuel should slide right in to the WR2 role the opposite of Terry McLaurin. I am not sure how many snaps Samuel will play his first week back, but I would think it would be less than 50%. Even so, if we see even a hint of how Samuel will be used in this offense going forward, he could be a big waiver wire pickup next week. Stash him now before it is too late.
Jamison Crowder – 18% Owned
Crowder has teased us to start the season and has been inactive for the first three weeks. He will finally make his season debut in Week 4 against a depleted Titans secondary. Elijah Moore is ruled out this week and Zach Wilson has not been able to connect with any of his other WRs besides Corey Davis which has looked bad in some weeks. The thing we love about Crowder in the past is that he is a security blanket for his QBs. With a young QB in Wilson who already looks like he is seeing ghosts, Crowder could slide right in to that security blanket role and become that PPR monster again. Let’s juts hope he can stay healthy!
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – 10% Ownded
Both Julio and AJ Brown are out for Week 4 which helps Westbrook-Ikhine the next man up. We saw him with 4 catches and a TD last week and with him being the top option, he could have a similar game against the Jets. The reason I am putting him here as a stash player is because AJ Brown’s injury could linger all season and we have seen Julio battling with injuries the last few years. If one of them or both continue to be out most weeks, Westbrook-Ikhine could carve himself out a nice role.
