Another week and another Players to Pick Up Now article for you all. We have been hitting a lot throughout the season, but I must admit, last week was not the best, but I still like Van Jefferson and Alex Collins as guys you should have picked up and stashed. OBJ did not look great for the Rams in his first game and Chris Carson is out for the season for the Seahawks, making Collins the lead RB there now for good.
Of course, we let you know the guys we picked last week and how the they did, so let’s take a look below.
Van Jefferson Jr.: Week 10 Results – 7 Tgts, 3 Rec, 54 Rec Yards (6.90 Fantasy Points)
Kenneth Gainwell: Week 10 Results – 2 Rush, 5 Rush Yards, 1 Tgt, 1 Rec, 9 Rec Yards (1.90 Fantasy Points)
Alex Collins: Week 10 Results – 10 Rush, 41 Rush Yards, 1 Tgt, 1 Rec, 8 Rec Yards (5.40 Fantasy Points)
Donovan Peoples-Jones: Week 9 Results – 5 Tgts, 1 Rec, 16 Rec Yards (2.10 Fantasy Points)
Now let’s get to the other players out there that could have a big week and who you should grab before it is too late. Now I am not saying these guys will for sure break out this week, and if you pick them up you should keep them at the end of your bench, and if they don’t do anything, just drop them at the end of the day. But these guys could hit big and then next week you aren’t scrapping for them with FAAB bids against multiple other league managers. I know I did not explain how I pick these players each week before, but it is usually players who are owned in 50% or less in leagues.
Cole Kmet – 24% Owned
Kmet is coming off his bye week, but before the bye, he had his best game of the season and first game having double digit points (11.70 in Half PPR). Justin Fields in Week 9 looked like an NFL QB and that was against a stout Steelers D, so maybe it took the young QB a few weeks to finally get in to form. Kmet seemed to be a favorite target of his and with a QB who is mobile like Fields, they tend to favor the TE in short yardage plays. He is going up against the Ravens and although they have a great defense, their weak spot is covering the TE. He has yet to find the end zone, but this is the week he could do it. He also has a very favorable schedule from here on out.
Jamal Agnew – 13% Owned
I should have put Agnew on here weeks ago and I am shocked he is still only 13% owned. He is averaging 10.6 (Hall PPR) fantasy points over the last 4 games and really ahs outplayed Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault in all those games. We all want Marvin Jones to have another big game, but we (myself included) have been wrong and it has killed us. Why not start playing the WR that is getting you a safe floor each week? He likely won’t have those huge games, but who will on the Jags this year? Agnew should be owned in many leagues and be a very safe flex play going forward.
Robby Anderson – 47% Owned
Robby has been a massive bust this season, but I do not think it has been all on him. I think it was mainly the horrid play of Sam Darnold and the Panthers know that. Even DJ Moore has fallen a lot since his first 4 weeks, so you saw the entire offense struggle with Darnold. I am not sure if Cam is the answer, but it can not get any worse. Anderson scored last week on a throw from Cam, so maybe Cam is finally the answer for Robby. I am fine if you do not want to start him this week, but this is a guy to put on your bench and just see how it plays out under Cam. If Anderson has another good game, he will likely be a big waiver add, so get him for free now.
Josh Reynolds – 1% Owned
This pick is a week too early because Reynolds is inactive this week, but he was recently claimed off waivers by the Lions. This signing flew under the radar and I think we need to talk about it more because he will be reunited with his old QB in Goff once both are active in Week 12. The Lions have not had any success at the WR position since Cephus went down, so maybe Reynolds can be that guy. With Goff already familiar with Reynolds after playing with him for 4 years prior, why not toss him on your bench. If you have a shallow bench then no need to pick him up, but if you are in a 12 team, league with 6 plus bench spots, why not?
THE WRAP UP
Those are the few players I wanted to talk about this week and again, if none of them pan out, just cut them for other waiver wire adds next week. The two teams on byes this week are the Broncos and Rams. Some players may have been dropped, or may still be available to stash for when they come off the bye.
A few players I would look at that may have been dropped or still out there would be Tim Patrick and Van Jefferson.
